DataForge Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the POS Forge platform at www.posforge.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our services.
By signing up for or using POS Forge, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.
1. Information We Collect
Account and business information. When you sign up, we collect your name, business name, email address, billing details, and other information needed to create and manage your account.
Transaction and sales data. We store the sales, orders, payments, product records, and other data you create while using the POS. This data belongs to you.
Usage data. We may collect information about how you use the platform, including pages visited, features used, and error logs, for the purpose of improving the service and diagnosing issues.
Payment information. We do not store full card numbers. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how payment data is handled.
Device and browser information. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, referring URL) may be retained for security and diagnostic purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the POS Forge platform
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send transactional communications (receipts, password resets, service notices)
- To provide customer support
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your business or transaction data for advertising.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We share data only with the following categories of service providers, and only to the extent necessary to deliver our service:
- Payment processors: Stripe (subscription billing), Linkly, and other EFTPOS providers you configure in your account
- Cloud infrastructure: Hosting and storage providers operating under data processing agreements
- Accounting integrations: Xero or MYOB, only when you explicitly connect those integrations
- Email delivery: Transactional email providers used to send service notifications
We require all third-party providers to protect your data in accordance with applicable privacy law.
4. Your Data Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
- Export your transaction and business data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

5. Data Retention
We retain your account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you request account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days except where retention is required by law.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
7. Cookies
POS Forge uses session cookies necessary for authentication and platform operation. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but this will prevent you from logging in to the platform.
8. Children's Privacy
The POS Forge platform is intended for use by businesses and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a notice on the platform. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of New Zealand, including the Privacy Act 2020. For users in Australia, we also comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988.
